Terms of service
By entering a competition (a “Competition”) operated by Jambala, whether directly or indirectly, you (“you”, “your”, “yourself” or “user”) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (these “Terms”) and the policies notified by the Promoter (as defined below) from time to time.
1. The Promoter
The promoter of the Competition is Almagrove Ltd (or “Jambala.co.uk”), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 03000668), whose registered office is at 458 Wimborne Rd, Bournemouth, Dorset BH9 2EY, and whose contact email is hello@jambala.co.uk (“we”, “us”, “our”).
We reserve the right to appoint agents or subcontractors to administer particular Competitions.
2. The Competition
Each Competition will be described on the relevant competition page or marketing materials with a name, closing date/time, entry mechanism, prize(s), and other terms (the “Competition Details”).
These Terms apply to all Jambala Competitions, except to the extent a specific Competition Notice states otherwise (in which case that notice shall prevail to the extent of any inconsistency).
The Competition is only for persons aged 18 and over. We ensure our compliance with and interpretation of all laws, regulations and requirements impacting our business and we expect the same degree of compliance with applicable laws from you.
We may cancel, suspend, or amend a Competition (or these Terms) at our absolute discretion (see clause 12).
You may not enter in any Competition, use, or access the website if you are a competitor of Jambala.co.uk, unless with prior written consent from us, which may be withheld at our discretion. Additionally, the website may not be used for monitoring, benchmarking, or competitive purposes.
You acknowledge and agree that the entry into the Competition shall not, under any circumstances, be for any unauthorised, unlawful, fraudulent or unethical purpose, including but not limited to impersonating another person, misrepresenting identity, falsifying information, or engaging in any activities that violate applicable laws.
By participating in any Competition, you acknowledge that participation and use of the website are at your own risk, and you agree that you are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and entry conditions.
3. How to Enter a Competition
- To enter, you must follow the entry instructions in the Competition Details, during the open entry period, and comply with these Terms.
- Unless otherwise stated, entries must be received by the closing time stated. Late entries will be disqualified.
- You must provide all required information (such as name, contact details and other necessary details) and any verification we request. Incomplete, illegible, or invalid entries will be void.
- Unless explicitly permitted, bulk entries, automated entries, or entries by third-party services will be void.
4. Entry Routes (Online / Paid / Auto-Entry, etc.)
An entry fee is payable each time you enter via our online entry method (“Online Entry Route”), including where you subscribe to recurring billing (see clause 4.5). Alternatively, you may enter for the “free/ no purchase necessary" route via the postal entry method (see clause 4.6) (“Postal Entry Route”). Below is how we handle typical entry routes. In each Competition Notice, we will explicitly specify which route(s) apply.
4.2 Draw-Based Competitions:
- You pay or submit entries through Online Entry Route (e.g. by credit card) or via Postal Entry Route..
- Each paid entry gives you one (or more) chance(s) in a random draw at the end of the competition period.
4.3 Instant Win Competitions:
- When you submit your entry, you may immediately see whether you have “won” (an instant outcome) under the rules of that Competition.
- If you win, that outcome is allocated instantly (subject to verification).
4.4 Instant Reveal Promotions:
- Similar to Instant Win, but instead of “win/no win,” the entry “reveals” a prize or message immediately when entered.
- Each revealed outcome is predetermined (according to an allocation schedule) and will be awarded until exhausted.
4.5 Recurring Billing / Auto-Entry:
- Some Competitions may allow you to subscribe or opt into recurring entries (e.g. monthly entries).
- You must explicitly consent to recurring billing or auto-entry.
- You may cancel your subscription or stop auto-entries at any time before the next billing cycle.
4.6 Postal Entry Route
4.6.1 You may enter into any Competition for free by using the Postal Entry Route. A valid postal entry will be treated in the same manner as an online paid entry, subject to the below conditions:
4.6.2 To enter via the Postal Entry Route, the Entrant must:
- Send an unenclosed postcard by first-class or second-class post to the following address: Jambala UK @ Almagrove Ltd, Unit 6 The Marlands Shopping Centre, Southampton SO14 7SJ];
- Clearly write on the postcard the following information:
- full name;
- residential address;
- date of birth;
- email address;
- contact phone number;
- the exact name of the Competition they wish to enter; and
- the correct answer to any qualifying question (if applicable).
- You must create a customer account on the Website/App prior to sending any Postal Entry. All details on the postcard must match exactly the details on the Entrant’s account. Postal entries received without a matching registered account will be void.
- Each postcard constitutes one (1) entry into one (1) Competition only. Multiple entries must be submitted separately. Bulk entries, multiple postcards in one envelope, photocopied postcards, or machine-generated entries will not be accepted.
- Postal entries must be received at least twenty four (24) hours prior to the closing date of the competition to allow time for processing. The Promoter is not responsible for delays in delivery by the postal service.
- Postal entries received after the closing date will not be entered into the Competition:
- If received within seventy two (72) hours after the closing date, you will be issued site credit equal to the cost of one standard paid entry, to be used in any alternative Competition.
- Entries received after this seventy two (72) hours period will be discarded without credit.
- Incomplete, illegible, incorrect, or unclear entries will be void, and the Promoter accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, delayed, or mis-delivered entries.
- The Promoter reserves the right to void or reject postal entries where it believes:
- You are attempting to use multiple names, addresses, or accounts;
- You are breaching any part of these Terms and Conditions; or
- the entry is fraudulent, duplicated, or not genuinely submitted by you.
5. Payment Mechanism
- Online payments to be made for any entry in a Competition can be made via credit/debit cards or internet banking, processed through a third-party system. We are not liable for incorrect details provided by users, declined payments, or unauthorised data access during the payment process. We shall not be responsible for any data breaches, inaccuracies, or losses resulting from disclosure of payment information, whether accidental or otherwise. Any associated fees are subject to change at our discretion.
- All payments payable by the users are due in advance and are non-refundable, except where expressly agreed by us or required by applicable law.
- You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring that you do not exceed the GBP 250 credit card payment limit within any rolling 30 day period or calendar month, as per the Voluntary Code. You further confirm that you will comply with this limit across all of your credit cards. Any non-compliance, overspend, or breach of this requirement shall be at your sole risk, and we shall have no liability for any consequences arising therefrom.
- You may, at any time, set or modify an individual spending limit applicable to your participation in any Competition, including a limit of GBP 0 that will prevent further paid entries. Any limit you apply will operate across all payment methods associated with your account. We will implement and enforce such limits on a reasonable-efforts basis; however, you remain solely responsible for ensuring that you do not exceed any spending limit set by you.
- For the avoidance of doubt, credit-card payments are not permitted for any Instant Win Competition (as per Clause 6.2). You may enter an Instant Win Competition only via debit card or through the applicable free entry route. Any attempt to enter an Instant Win Competition using a credit card will be rejected, and any entry inadvertently processed using a credit card shall be void without liability on our part.
6. Choosing a Winner & Allocation of Outcomes
How and when prizes or winning entries are selected depends on the competition type.
Draw-Based Competitions:
- After the closing time, we will conduct a random draw from all valid entries.
- The draw will be performed using a verifiable random mechanism (e.g. a certified random number generator or under independent supervision).
- The draw will take place within the timeframe stated in the Competition Details (or within one month, if unspecified).
Instant Win Competitions:
- Winning entries are predetermined or triggered according to the random or algorithmic logic specified in the Competition Details.
- Once a winning “slot” is exhausted, no further wins for that prize are possible.
Instant Reveal Promotions:
- Prizes or reveal outcomes are allocated according to a schedule or algorithm set out in the Competition Details (e.g. “first 10 entries get X, next 100 get Y”).
- Once a particular prize pool is exhausted, entries will default to “no prize” or a lesser prize as set out in the allocation schedule.
Conducting Draws & Transparency:
- We may engage an independent auditor, third-party draw service, or observer to ensure fairness.
- Decisions on draw conduct, winner eligibility, or disqualification are final and binding (subject to legal rights).
- We will make reasonable efforts to ensure all eligible entries are considered fairly and equally.
- All prizes in our draw-based Competitions are awarded strictly in accordance with the laws of chance, using verifiable random processes.
- By entering any of our competitions or draws, you agree to your name, or portion of it, to be published for transparency, auditing, or advertising purposes.
7. Eligibility
- Unless otherwise stated in the Competition Details:
- Each entrant must be at least 18 years old (or of legal age in their jurisdiction).
- Entrants must be legal residents of the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) unless the Competition Notice states otherwise.
- Employees, officers, directors, agents or family members (household or immediate family) of Jambala or its affiliates, or persons connected with the administration of the Competition, are not eligible.
- By entering, you confirm you are eligible and you may be required to provide proof of eligibility (e.g. ID, address, age).
- You must not misuse the Website, or engage in any fraudulent, deceptive, abusive or manipulative behaviour. You must not create more than one account per person or per household, nor submit entries using multiple identities, aliases, email addresses, postal addresses or devices for the purpose of increasing your chances of winning or bypassing entry limits.
- We reserve the right to disqualify you if we believe you have breached these Terms, attempted to tamper with the entry process, or acted fraudulently, or in bad faith. We may monitor your participation patterns, spending behaviour and account interactions to identify potential harm, excessive play, other indicators of risk or indicators of suspicious, coordinated or fraudulent activity. Where such indicators are reasonably detected, we may take proportionate action, including temporarily or permanently suspending your account, restricting participation in Competitions, limiting access to certain features, or requesting additional verification.
- The Promoter reserves the right to refuse, void or disqualify any entry if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, submitted entries on behalf of another person, acted in concert with others (including members of your household), attempted to circumvent entry limits or eligibility rules, or engaged in any conduct intended to manipulate, interfere with or unfairly influence the outcome of any Competition.
- You may be disqualified if you are found tampering with, damaging, or attempting to interfere with the Website, App, any entry process, the random draw mechanism, or if you use automated tools, bots, scripts, macros or any other non-human means to enter or interact with the Competition.
- You may also be disqualified if you submit any content, communication, or social media posting that is abusive, inappropriate, offensive, defamatory, harassing or otherwise objectionable, or which may cause harm or distress to other Entrants, the Promoter, or any third party.
- Upon selection as a Winner, Jambala will contact the Winner to request a copy of valid photographic identification to verify their identity and age, and to confirm that any debit or credit card used to purchase an Entry was legally theirs. Where the card used was not legally owned by the Winner, the Entrant must provide evidence that they had authorisation to use the card before any Prize is paid or delivered. The Winner must supply the requested proof of identification and card ownership within five (5) days of being contacted by Jambala to confirm their status as a Winner. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in disqualification and the Promoter selecting an alternative Winner.
Prize Integrity (Voluntary Code of Practice)
Where a Competition is offered under the DCMS Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators (the “Voluntary Code”), the Promoter commits to the following Prize integrity standards:
Prizes awarded as advertised. The Promoter will not substitute a Prize with one of lower advertised value due to a low number of Entries. Where the advertised Prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Promoter’s control, the Promoter will offer an equal-or-better alternative or the stated cash alternative.
No cancellation for low sales. A Competition will not be cancelled due to a low number of Entries received.
No change of draw or closing date. The Promoter will not change the published closing date or draw date of a Competition due to a low number of Entries.
Prompt Prize delivery. The Promoter will deliver, or arrange delivery of, the Prize to the Winner within twenty-eight (28) days of the draw, subject to the Winner satisfying the identity verification and delivery requirements set out in these Terms.
